Apologies for the less than gleaming picture above but for this blog, and the next one, I want to get down and dirty with you to give you an idea of how Pisani Designs approaches an interior design project from start to finish.
As I say this is Part 1, The Building Site. The plans are drawn up and we are well under-way to converting this rather tired 1 bedroom flat in Brighton into a very attractive 2 bedroom apartment. A great little project!
The image above shows the living room, with temporary structural beams. The clients are a young couple requiring extra space but also desiring a home in keeping with the latest design trends. We started to collate design ideas in early October and have worked at a pace comfortable for them, so they could make what they have felt are the right decisions, which will work for them long term, as they have no plans to move.
Good well planned storage, is also a big requirement, as this property is on the ground floor so does not benefit from any loft or basement space. We prepared detailed drawings of all cabinetry work and asked our clients to give us the OK once they were sure. All shoes and coats will now have a place to live!
This has been a thoroughly enjoyable project so far, the design stage has been paced in such a way to allow the client time to make decisions they feel comfortable with, whilst ensuring all works have been prepared in line with the available budget. All cabinetry is bespoke, stylish and will be made on site and spray finished to a high standard. We have been able to study and maximise every inch of available space and we are looking forward to seeing the end results.
We have also ensured that all the building control requirements are adhered to in our design layouts and handled all the paperwork for the clients. We have covered all aspects of the interior design, from new room layout plans and elevations to electrical design, bathroom, kitchen design and project management during the build stage. With our good local knowledge we have also been able to bring in a reputable builder and structural surveyor.
That’s it for Part 1. Please watch this space to see the finished design and what our clients have to say once the work is completed.
