We have been working on this very exciting project for a few months now so it’s a good time to share.
It’s always great to be involved in projects right from the start. And with this project we were involved with the Architect and the Builder as soon as the foundations went down.
Getting the interior designer on board in the early stages of a new build can quickly address common problems like poor room layouts and make sure that key aspects like lighting and electrical design are covered early. This really helps with the synergy of the interior design, which with such a prestigious and spacious property, is even more important to get right.
So let me tell you a bit more about the detail. We are designing a 7 bedroom luxury villa on the Golf Adeje in Tenerife. The total space is 1,500m², one of the largest private residences in the area, and will include a spa, wine cellar, billiard room, home cinema and infinity swimming pool.
We have been contracted for 1 year, to work through all aspects of the interior design. The first stage being room planning and layouts, followed by all the necessary interior details; ceiling layouts and design, lighting design, electrical design, electrical circuits, switch and socket location, floor finishes, and tiling.
The villa in some areas has ceiling up to 6 meters high, which is a challenge but also a thrilling amount of space to work with, creating ceiling detail and choosing lighting to bring out the best of the features.
We have also designed bespoke furniture and cabinetry for the project; wardrobes, bathroom vanity units, kitchens and internal doors, with some internal doors being 3 meters high!
We are now at the stage of furniture selection and design, as well as soft furnishings and finishing all interior details. This will be a lengthy process which we envisage taking us up to the end of 2013. We will keep you posted.
