5 Interior design trends for 2022

As 2021 draws slowly to a close, we are all feeling like it’s been a long year, where we have a had time to reflect on what’s important to us. From the growing importance of sustainability to a new level of individuality and uniqueness, follow our guide to bring your home into the New Year with invigorated style!

Warm cosy colours

Winter gives us the perfect excuse to get cosy and a great way of doing this through interior design, is with the use of a strong colour palette. Colours, like burnt orange, deep mustards and peacock blues are great colours to make you feel cocooned during the cold winter months. They work well alongside dark interior colours like grey and navy and add warmth and a playful element during the cold winter months.

Multifunctional outdoor spaces

We have seen a huge change in attitudes to outdoor spaces in 2022 and our sister company Claire Winchester Garden design, have been busy designing beautiful outdoor spaces. Having spent so much time at home, we have had plenty of time to reflect upon the value of our outside living space and how best to use it. It’s great to create a connection between interior design and landscape design and the result is an extension of your home. Dedicated seating areas, contemporary pergolas and outdoor fires have been hot choices.

Global style

Earthy colours and natural textures, the Global influence interior design style combines seamlessly, wood, and woven home accessories. This year we have had to dig deep to find our inspiration, as we haven’t been able to travel to gain insight into this must have interior design trend. Taking influence from nature has never felt more important and the desire for a tropical getaway has felt out of reach. Embrace natural materials, textures, and calm colours to create your own sanctuary at home.

Green interiors

Bringing elements of the natural world into our home interior design encourages personal growth as well as evoking a feeling of calm.  Green is a bold colour and its back with a bang, a popular choice to breathe new life into interior design schemes. Create a feeling of tranquillity by using this timeless, popular, calming colour

Home Office

Working from home has never been more popular, or necessary than it has in the past two years. A dedicated home office space will enable you to separate work tasks from your personal life, to ensure that much needed work-life balance. A home office must be a space to induce thought and through careful interior design, be comfortable and have creative inspiration, by way of artwork or a lovely view.
